July means warm sunny days spent outside in the open! However, Northern summers can be quite unstable and when scouting for a location a few weeks back we had no idea about the weather forecasts for this day. Luckily Marble Matter and I ended up finding a cosy backyard in the heart of Østerbro with a sheltered patio, perfect for hosting an outdoor marbling workshop! So on a cloudy Saturday on the 16th of July, our participants marbled to the sound of summer rain. 

The workshop was textile-based. Every participant got a number of cotton sheets of fabric, and a tote bag. The fabric used is 100% natural cotton all washed and prepared with modant and aluminium salt.

Patterns can be made by dripping paint on the surface and then these can be altered by running a thin stick through the surface layer of the 'size'.
